About Us

The Kurdish Studies Center (KSC) is a non-profit, independent research center established in Diyarbakır in 2019 through the initiative of individuals from civil society, academia, and various social circles. The center’s primary goal is to conduct independent research and produce objective information aimed at understanding the social, cultural, economic, and political dynamics of all communities living in this region, particularly the Kurdish community in the Middle East.

There is a serious lack of data on the Kurds, who are becoming an increasingly important focus of attention at both the global and regional levels in the 21st century. KSC aims to address this gap and become one of the region’s reliable centers for information production by conducting field research, organizing academic meetings, providing consultancy to researchers, and developing joint projects with civil society organizations.

The Center aims to contribute to political and social dialogue by disseminating its research findings and data to the public and decision-makers, not limiting them to academia. Creating safe platforms where sensitive issues such as identity, democratization, peace, and minority rights can be openly discussed is one of KSC’s recognized strengths. The knowledge produced, particularly on the participation of disadvantaged groups in social life and the economy, is used as a tool that sets the agenda for civil and political actors and serves policy development processes.

The Center for Kurdish Studies is not affiliated with any political party.
